Our Aluminum Profile "DT1", is a sleek and narrow 1⁄2 Inch wide, plaster-in, recessed LED housing that evenly diffuses light when used with our DOTLESS, high-density, LED strips. The compact design allows for installation inside 1⁄2 Inch or 5⁄8" drywall without having to modify framing. Applications
An elegant addition to any modern or contemporary home or office, use our Aluminum Profile DT1 to create virtually any decorative linear lighting pattern in your walls or ceiling. Rated for LEDs up to 3 Watts/ft, keep in mind that Aluminium Profile DT1 is primarily designed for ambient and decorative lighting applications.
Mounting Method

Using a drywall knife, cut a slot for the Aluminum Housing.

Using a flat-head drywall screw, screw the housing through the integrated plaster-bead and secure it to the drywall.

Apply a single layer of contractors tape over light opening.

Apply drywall tape over integrated plaster-bead.

Apply plaster, smooth with compound knife.

Sand down to get smooth finish and paint.
Cutting
To cut your aluminum profiles and make your lighting fixtures a custom length, simply snap the lens onto the profile, and place the channel onto a miter saw with the lens facing down. By doing this you can easily cut both the channel and lens to your desired length at the same time. We recommend using a NEW fine tooth blade to cut your aluminum channels for LED strips. The diffuser/lens is fragile and will easily break with an old blade. The easiest way to avoid breaking a lens or diffuser is to lower the saw blade slowly while cutting.
